Dude, the possibilities for color palette alone make me tingle with anticipation :-) Maybe you can make a set of Mille Borne-style cards.
Oh man, yes! Definitely an art direction with some degree of abstraction, to avoid offending the senses too much. Perhaps pixelated imagery, like a steaming pile of dog poo? I could do sights as well as sounds… heck, cover all the senses.
I love the idea of turning it into a card game. That also got me thinking along the lines of a Tarot reading… “Beware the Double-Parked Cab With The Flashers On, for Douche Bag In A Bluetooth Headset will Toss A Door Into Your Frame.”
